A brief explanation of the farm

The Coral Farm Joe & Co began breeding hard coral offshoots in 1998 and is now one of the oldest and largest breeding operations in Germany and neighboring countries dedicated to breeding aquarium-grown corals.

At least in terms of the range of species. The focus is primarily on small-polyp stony corals (SPS) – anyone can do LPS, they say around here ;-) We produce for the end customer, which allows us a more balanced approach and avoids mass production.

Craftsmanship combined with modern analysis to create natural water parameters allows the KorallenFarm to care for the most sensitive stony corals in the best color variation.

But corals for beginners, robust and easy to care for, are also on the agenda. Soft and leather corals, encrusting and disc anemones—and yes, even various large polyps on a small scale.

Our mother corals are in care here for over 20 years and guarantee the most sustainable protection of natural populations - literally, offspring from offspring under "indoor conditions" produce populations adapted to the aquarium environment - with guaranteed growth in the well-maintained customer tank!

After carefully selecting the branches to be cut from the parent plant, they are usually attractively multi-branched even from a young age, carefully glued, and grown on cutting stones or plugs, and then put on sale. There's no discernible difference from natural, small corals!

The most careful packaging during shipping, using the time-tested method—hanging the product with plenty of water around it and filling it with oxygen—guarantees undamaged arrival at the customer. Heat packs are standard for us during the cold season—multi-used Styrofoam boxes.

Not to be forgotten and a matter close to our hearts: the use of "green" energy for our facilities!

What more could you want ;-)

With the intention of expanding our stocks of a wide variety of corals, we occasionally purchase "wild-caught" corals of the highest quality from wholesalers. In the Coral Farm facilities, we give them time to adapt and grow before the first offshoots are cut, usually after a year. Always only enough—this also applies to our ancient mother stocks—to ensure the survival of the breeding stocks.

Our small online shop represents only a small portion of the corals we sell, which number in the thousands in our store.

The longest journey is worth it - an old saying but apt.

At least with us!
